A Small World

It's amazing how small and close-knit the adoption world is. I have met so many people (mostly online) that I would never have known if it had not been for the miracle of adoption. I've also reconnected with old friends that have adopted since the last time that we saw each other. It's binded our families together. I recently read a quote on one of my new friend's facebook pages that said:

"Is adoption God's provision for infertility or is infertility God's provision for an orphan?"

Thought provoking.

I would have never been able to say this three years ago (or even one year ago), but now I am SO thankful for our struggle with infertility. Thank you, God, for opening my eyes to this miracle you have provided for us. It was through our desperation, that You showed us Your ultimate plan. If it had not been for the heartache of infertility and loss, then we would never know the joy that adoption can bring. Adoption is healing our hearts...this child that we have never met, that does not share our culture, or our skin color, or our language, but that we love with all of our hearts; THIS child is healing the deep wound caused by years of longing, frustration, and loss.

If you have struggled with infertility, please know that there is light on the other side. Pray diligently for God's guidance, and most of all, please be open to the wonderful gift of adoption. Adoption heals. Adoption saves. I know that now.
